USDA’s Increasing Land, Capital, and Market Access Program (Increasing Land Access Program)

APPLICATIONS DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2022

This Program builds upon USDA’s commitment to transform the food and agricultural system. The Increasing Land Access Program intends to assist underserved producers by increasing land, capital and market access through funding cooperative agreements or grants for projects. Projects should focus on increasing access to farm ownership opportunities, improving access and results for farmers on heirs’ property or fractionated land, building access to markets and capital that affect the ability to access land, and expanding  land ownership, land succession and agricultural business planning.

However, Rural Coalition is aware that many of our members may face significant barriers in accessing the application process. To address these barriers, we have partnered with the National Young Farmer Coalition and National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition to assist groups in applying to this important grant round.  To help us plan this assistance, please complete this survey to determine the assistance you may need to submit a successful application (La encuesta esta disponible en español aquí). If you are a RuralCo member and have interest in the Increasing Land Access Program, please indicate you are an RC member, and complete the survey ASAP. Grant applications are due October 28, 2022.

USDA has designated $300 Million for this initiative, made available through passage of Section 1006 in the American Rescue Plan Act, and amended by the Inflation Reduction Act. Both bills included provisions to ensure underserved producers are able to access resources, programs, and technical support.

Rural Coalition and our partners want to support you in this effort, uplift this USDA program and work with USDA and our members toward a more equitable process of providing funding opportunities. We will also have our partners join us for our next member call on Friday, October 7 to answer any questions on the round.
